Work at Kaboom: Industry Coordinator

Kaboom Animation Festival presents the most daring, creative and innovative international animation in a mind blowing festival from March 21st – 30th in Utrecht, Amsterdam and online. Besides film, we offer an Expanded Animation program, in which the boundaries of animation are explored. The Kaboom Industry Days take place on 25 & 26 March at the HKU and consist two full days of industry program aimed at (inter)national animation professionals and young talent. Kaboom Animation Festival is a platform for sharing stories in animation. By selecting previously unheard voices and untold stories and facilitating encounters between the makers and our audience, we stimulate creativity and feed exchange and tolerance. Our team consists of all kinds of different people who love animation: everyone suits Kaboom!

Kaboom Industry Coordinator
We are professionalizing and expanding our Industry activities and therefor need an Industry Coordinator to work alongside our Head of Industry. The team is lean and mean, meaning you will be working of various levels, from strategizing to programming and producing.

Team & Tasks
You will be working in a team of professionals that aim to support each other and make a good edition of the festival. The Industry department is responsible for the production of the Kaboom Industry Days, but gets supported by other departments for communication, ticketing, location production, technical production, volunteers management, guest services and hospitality. The Industry department works closely with the artistic director on the program, and is responsible for executing the program of the Kaboom Industry Days. Besides the head of Industry and the Industry Corodinator, there will be an industry intern that helps with the tasks and should also get a good learning experience at Kaboom. During the Industry Days a location manager and a team of volunteers is added to help run things smoothly. The tasks the Industry Coordinator will work on are:

  • Together with the Head of Industry plan, coordinate and execute the program of Industry Days 2025;
  • To maintain contact with the Industry Days venues and selected partners of the Industry program;
  • To help finalize selected program elements (one-on-one meetings, animation pitch, Debutants Ball),
  • To produce the content of the industry days (schedules, guests lists, slides, infrastructure);
  • To add Industry Days program to the festival website and database;
  • To maintain contact with colleagues about location production, technics, catering, volunteers, guests, ticketing and accreditations;
  • To work together with an intern, who is learning about festival production;
  • To execute the program during the festival (help the Head of Industry manage production & technique workers and volunteers, manage catering agreements);
  • To participate in an evaluation and ensure knowledge and procedures are kept for upcoming editions.
