Charlie the rabbit's birthday promises to be the best ever! There are presents, carrot cake and a picnic by the lake.

But today of all days, his little sister is ill. What a bummer for little Charlie! But the toddler rabbit is determined: this will not ruin his birthday. Stubbornly, he leaves in his wagon to his grandmother, who lives on the other side of the dangerous forest. Fortunately, he can count on the help of his friends. Along the way he experiences all kinds of adventures ... His birthday turns out differently than expected, but could it still be fun?

Best Birthday Ever (De Beste Verjaardag Ooit) is the first film adaptation of the children's books by acclaimed German illustrator Rotraut Susanne Berner, whose work won the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award for Illustration in 2016.
