Animation Conversations: The Art of Puppet Animation
Animation Conversations is a series of talks that started back in 2021 in which filmmakers meet and discuss their inspirations, their styles, their differences and similarities. The initiative is a collaboration between Kaboom Animation Festival, the Dutch Academy for Film and the Netherlands Audiovisual Producers Alliance (NAPA), with the support of the Dutch Film Fund.
This sixth volume of Animation Conversations is the kick-off for a new season of talks and brings together Joseph Wallace and Jamie Caliri. Both are experienced animation directors and have worked on acclaimed animated music videos, shorts and feature sequences. Caliri's works include the sweeping end titles for 'Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events’ and puppet animation sequences for 'The Little Prince’ as well as being the creator of the stop motion software Dragonframe. Joseph Wallace directed an award-winning music clip for the band Sparks and made animated sequences for Edgar Wright’s doc feature 'The Sparks Brothers'. His latest short film 'Salvation Has No Name' features in our International Competition.
